Everything looks perfect from far away
There are two notable things about that picture: the first is that I took it at arm’s length (which I’m terrible at doing), and secondly, I was in a hot air balloon! It was a wonderful experience, all at once exciting, peaceful, and humbling. We drifted on the winds for 90 minutes, over tree-shrouded cul-de-sacs, the straight lines and white boxes of suburban streets, and fields and forests rolling on as far as the eye could see. The sun beautifully illuminated the mist that blankets the foothills of the Blue Ridge; quite an inspiring view. After landing, we toasted our successful flight with sparkling grape juice.
When I came to grips once again with being a speck on the ground, I met up with Michael and we made the first packaging prototype for my EP. It looks great! I can’t wait to get these things made and get a copy into your hands. You should also pick up his compilation album when it comes out– you might even hear me playing a guitar solo somewhere on there.
